Real-time data

The USGS Louisiana Water Science Center is committed to collecting and providing the most up-to-date information before, during, and after the flood event and making it available to the public as quickly as possible. Real time data is available both graphically and in tabular form. Data is transmitted via GOES satellite from our sites in the field to our offices across the nation where the information is processed then presented on the Web. Most sites are updated hourly, but some are updated every four hours.
